Rural Housing Week 2022

Welcome to Rural Housing Week 2022!

Rural Housing Week is an annual campaign that showcases the fantastic work housing associations do in rural communities.

The challenges facing housing in rural communities remain significant with rural economies lagging on key metrics such as pay, productivity and infrastructure, so it’s more important than ever to help shine a light on some of the big rural housing issues – and solutions.

We will be supporting this year’s Rural Housing Week by bringing you news and stories from around the region and showcasing the great work that communities and partner organisations can achieve by working together to deliver high quality affordable rural housing. If you’re not already, do make sure that you are following us on Twitter and Facebook for updates throughout the week.

Below are the resources we will be sharing during this campaign week.
Have a browse through our website for more information.

Podcasts

The informative podcast we are sharing this week is from Chris France. He chats through the opportunities for community led housing within the National Parks and the North York Moors.

To listen to some more podcasts by people with lived experience of community led housing, take a look here.

Workshops

As a hub we regularly run workshops on the different aspects of community led housing.
Our current series ‘Communities Building Homes’ takes you from the basics of ‘what is community led housing’, right through to the ‘Live’ stage of the process.

The next available in this series is Living in and managing your homes, 12 July.
